Darse Beach in Villefranche-sur-Mer

Nestled at the foot of the breakwater at Villefranche-sur-Mer harbor, Darse Beach is a charming pebble beach. Relatively small, it offers a panoramic view of Villefranche Bay. The beach is appealing due to its discreet location, creating a calm and soothing atmosphere, sheltered from prying eyes. Mostly frequented by locals, it has a shower as its only facility.

Swimming Conditions

The water is crystal-clear, with a moderate depth in the first few meters. The seabed consists of pebbles, and swimming is not supervised.

Access and Parking

Head to the end of the quays at Villefranche-sur-Mer harbor. Once you reach the Marine Station, take the Promenade des Professeurs. When on the breakwater, descend the small stairs that lead to the beach.

It is possible to park your vehicle in the free spaces along the road. However, these are often occupied, while the harbor parking lot is reserved for its users. If you’re traveling by train, the station is about a 20-minute walk away.
