About Carras Beach

Located in Nice, Carras Beach marks the beginning of the Promenade des Anglais coming from the West. Nestled in the Carras neighborhood, just after the airport, this pebble beach is calmer than its downtown counterparts. Relatively spacious, it offers plenty of room to settle in. Its stunning view of the Promenade des Anglais adds to the appeal of the spot. Swimming is supervised in the summer, and a “Handiplage” offers facilities for people with reduced mobility. Note that this beach in Nice is dog-friendly. Lastly, you’ll find numerous shops nearby, such as bakeries and supermarkets.

Tip : For added comfort, you can lay down your towel near the beach volleyball court to enjoy its fine sand.

Swimming Conditions

The water is generally clean. The seabed consists of pebbles and becomes quickly deep just a few meters from the shore.

The beach offers a beach volleyball court as well as a jet ski rental stand for thrill-seekers.

Access and Parking

Parking spaces are available along the Promenade des Anglais or its parallel (Avenue de la Californie), as well as in the “Les Bosquets” parking lot. All three options are paid.

The beach is also accessible by tram via line 2, at the “Carras” stop.

Interesting Facts

Carras was once a small fishing village away from the city. Nowadays, this neighborhood in the west of Nice still has its small harbor. In fact, the Port Abri Carras and its few boats are located to the right of the beach.

Overall Impression

The beach is pleasant and fairly quiet, with a nice view of the Promenade des Anglais. Although the water depth is not ideal for children, lifeguards ensure safety during the summer. Additionally, we appreciate the presence of several snacks and bakeries in the area, perfect for a midday meal.
