Mala beach, located in Cap d’Ail, is often considered one of the most beautiful beaches on the Côte d’Azur. Situated in a cove, it offers an intimate and secluded atmosphere. Access is via small shaded stairs that provide a magnificent view of the bay. You can admire the crystal-clear waters where you can cool off. The beach is divided into three parts, some of which are public and others private. Note that the public areas are non-smoking.

For those who prefer sand and don’t want to visit a private establishment, you will find what you’re looking for in the first part of the beach. This area welcomes you as soon as you arrive. You won’t have to walk any further to enjoy the clear water while lounging on the warm sand. There is also a jellyfish net here, making it ideal for children.

The central part of the beach is occupied by two beach clubs, La Réserve de la Mala and Eden Plage Mala. These venues offer sun loungers, umbrellas, showers, and toilets. They also provide dining services with a variety of menus, featuring fresh seafood and local specialties.

For those seeking more tranquility, head to the end of the beach after the private establishments. This area is made up of pebbles and therefore offers slightly less comfort. However, you will have more space around you, as most people prefer the sandy section. Note that access to the rocks marking the end of the beach is prohibited for safety reasons.

Discover small coves and hidden beaches to enjoy this idyllic setting in peace. You can find them especially at the beginning of the trail, less than two minutes from the beach !

How to get there ?

  • From the road : you will need to take Avenue des Combattants de l'Afrique du Nord and follow the directional signs. This will lead to many stairs, making access difficult for people with reduced mobility. It will take about 15 minutes of walking to reach the beach.
  • From Cap d'Ail train station : head towards and follow the coastal path to your right (about a 15-minute walk).

  • Paid parking spots : a few paid spots are available along the small road leading down to the beach. Keep in mind that during the summer, you'll need to arrive early to secure a spot.

La plage de la Mala est l'une des plus belles de la Côte d'Azur. Avec son sable fin, la zone située à gauche est confortable et permet d'accéder à l'endroit où l'eau est la plus limpide. Toutefois, en période estivale, cette partie est rapidement saturée. La plage de galets, située sur la droite, est moins fréquentée, mais également moins agréable. Les deux établissements privés haut de gamme offrent des services de qualité, bien qu'ils ne soient pas accessibles à tous les budgets. L'accès à la plage se fait par de nombreux escaliers, ce qui peut poser problème pour les poussettes et les personnes à mobilité réduite. Enfin, en haute saison, se garer en voiture devient très compliqué. Il est préférable de favoriser le train sachant que la gare de Cap d'Ail se situe relativement proche de la plage.
